Wednesday Gatherings

For this week’s Wednesday Gathering, we are thrilled to be led by Dr. Jibril Latif, the new Dean at Bayan Islamic Graduate School, our partner institution. Dr. Latif will speak to us with a talk titled:

This session will explore an episode in the Quran’s Surah of The Cave wherein an unnamed deictic figure makes a profound appearance as a trickster-like figure and teacher. Known in the Islamic canon as The Green Man, this deictic character both breaks norms and binds cannons. A Q&A will follow the talk..

The event is hybrid. For those attending in-person and not fasting, there will be a community lunch following the discussion.
